bhct SAFEGUARDING policy
Safeguarding Policy
At the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to protecting every individual we encounter — children, adults at risk, and our own team — from harm, abuse, and neglect.
Our Commitment
We have robust policies and procedures in place to protect children and adults at risk.
All our staff and volunteers receive regular safeguarding training.
We work closely with statutory agencies and emergency services to ensure immediate and appropriate responses.
Key Principles
Empowerment: Supporting individuals to make their own informed choices wherever possible.
Prevention: Acting early to prevent harm.
Proportionality: Responding in ways that are appropriate and least intrusive.
Protection: Providing help and advocacy for those who need it most.
Partnership: Working with local services and communities.
Accountability: Ensuring transparency and clarity in all our safeguarding actions.
