Searches and rescues during September 2011

During September 2011, Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team were involved in a total of 58  searches and incidents which resulted in the rescue of 20 people who were despondent.  One further person was rescued by the emergency services but with no direct dealing by BHCT.

We were called to 42 searches for despondent missing persons by Sussex Police, and were alerted to 2 incidents by the Beachy Head Pub and 2 incidents by members of the public.  In addition to these searches and incidents, the Proactive team came across 10 further incidents during its patrols of the Beachy Head area.

Sadly a body was recovered from the cliffs during the month.   Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased.
